About Me

I’m Vanessa Hentz, LCSW — a therapist, Army veteran, author, and educator originally from Chicago.
My path to becoming a clinical social worker has been shaped by both professional training and lived experience. Serving in the Army gave me a firsthand understanding of structure, transition, identity, resilience, and the challenges that can come with figuring out who you are after one chapter ends.
Today, I provide therapy to adults and veterans navigating anxiety, depression, stress, major life transitions, and the process of creating a life that feels more manageable and meaningful.
My approach is warm, direct, practical, and collaborative. I believe therapy should feel like a space where you can be honest, feel understood, and leave with tools you can actually use in your everyday life.
As my work continues to grow, I look forward to expanding into professional training, continuing education, and consulting. At the center of everything I do is the belief that growth does not require perfection — just honesty, support, and a willingness to keep moving forward.
